Cintra HR & Payroll
Introduction
Joining Cintra marked the beginning of a transformative journey, where my expertise in product design and UI/UX engineering played a pivotal role in driving innovation and enhancing user experiences. My tenure was characterised by significant contributions that not only improved the platform but also laid the foundation for future growth and success.
Transforming the Data Grid
One of my initial focus areas was the data grid, a critical feature of the platform. Through a UX audit and user observations, I identified several issues that were affecting its usability. I proposed two solutions: standardising the current grid framework and implementing a third-party grid system to provide users with greater control. These changes significantly improved efficiency and user satisfaction, making the data grid a more powerful tool for advanced users.
Cintra Cloud - Irish Payroll
From June to October 2023, I worked on the Cintra Cloud - Irish Payroll project. I created designs that were approved, and the first phase of development started. This project introduced unique elements tailored to the Irish market and dynamic components for a global platform in its modularity. Despite the project's cancellation and the team's disbandment, it highlighted the importance of adaptable and scalable design solutions.
Revamping the Platform
My work extended beyond the data grid, as I led efforts to breathe new life into other areas of the platform. By introducing dynamic components and modular layouts, I ensured that the platform could adapt and grow with user needs. This included the launch of Cintra Groups, which transitioned from a simple menu item to a dynamic add-on product offering live data and reports supported by a dynamic dashboard.
Budget Forecasting with AI and ML
Following the cancellation of the Irish Payroll project, I focused on developing features to forecast budgets, incorporating Machine Learning (ML) and AI technologies to support other areas of the system. These advanced tools provided valuable insights and predictive capabilities, enhancing the overall functionality of Cintra Cloud.
Streamlining Processes
I took a strategic approach to streamline user journeys and eliminate bottlenecks. This led to the introduction of Lean Payroll, a new consultancy service that optimised processes from data gathering to input and output. The result was a more efficient and accurate workflow, providing significant time savings for users.
Enhancing Reporting Capabilities
Recognizing the need for improved reporting, I proposed and implemented a new grid system that allowed for customizable reports accessible at any time. This led to the launch of Live Reporting, providing users with real-time access to reports and significantly enhancing the platform's value proposition.
Driving Team Success
As the Team Leader for the design team, I played a crucial role in recruitment and talent development. I mentored our UX designer, guiding their progression to become a Product Designer. Leading by example, I was always hands-on and available to answer questions, provide explanations, and offer constructive critiques, fostering a supportive and growth-oriented environment.
Acknowledgement and Impact
My contributions were acknowledged by the CEO during a company-wide meeting, recognizing the role I played in a Special Interest Group (SIG) that focused on user research and testing. This group’s work led to the launch of new products and features targeting specialist industries, showcasing the broader impact of my efforts on the company's strategic direction.
Conclusion
Reflecting on my journey at Cintra, I am proud of the significant transformations we achieved. The innovative solutions, collaborative efforts, and steadfast commitment to enhancing user experiences and operational efficiency marked my tenure. As I move forward, I am excited to bring these lessons and insights into new challenges and opportunities, confident that the principles of perseverance, collaboration, and innovation will continue to guide my success.
